Memorial website in the memory of your loved one

July 2017, Photobucket required their users upgrade to a $399.99 account in order to continue use of third-party hosting. Many users, including myself, wasn't aware of their "Ransom" until we noticed our images are no longer showing up, on our "third-party pages", via images uploaded to our Photobucket account.

The new owner(s) of Memory-of have done nothing, to-date, to stop this occurrence; not even a fair warning. Karma has very long outstretched arms, an inescapable grasp, and an extraordinary, endless, memory.

This memorial website is created in loving memory of my son, Laquan Ali Majette, who died suddenly and tragically at the age of 24, on January 15, 2005; five days before his 25th birthday.

My son died a victim of multiple gunshot wounds to the torso. Unfortunately, he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. God decided it best to take him Home. His favorite Books of the Bible were Psalm 139:23 and Romans 8:28. He can now rest in eternal heavenly peace.

My child now lives in Eternity, his soul has been set FREE!

Don't grieve for me, for now

I'm following the path God laid for me.

I took His hand when I heard Him call.
I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day,
to laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way.
I found that place at the close of day.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.

Lift up your heart and share with me,
God wanted me now,
~ Laquan ~

(Prayer Card)

Lord, we know You're always busy,
for You've many things to do,
but when sorrow overcomes us, well,
we need to talk to You.

For we've lost someone precious,
and they're with You there above,
and it's someone that we needed
and it's someone that we love.

We are feeling lost and all alone,
and though we do believe,
we need You, Lord,
to hold us up, to help us while we grieve.

Please give us strength and courage, Lord,
to bear what we must bear and nudge us
when our faith is weak to remind us You are there.

Give us hope for our tomorrows,
tell us life will still go on,
show us, Lord, that all this darkness
will be followed by the dawn.
You have led us through so many things,
You've pulled us through before,
hold us up, Lord,
till we're through this
and we are strong once more.

 LUV U!!!

 LUV U!!!

Not lost to memory, not lost to love,
But gone to our Father's House Above

With eyes closed for the final time,
Tomorrow will not be,
I'm free of pain and suffering,
So do not weep for me.

No tears, no sadness do I feel,
My spirit's so happy,
Go on and live each day ahead,
And know I've been set free.

The beauty here is ecstasy,
No need to grieve or carry on,
I'm still alive though you can't see,
I'm Home where I belong.

A heart of gold stopped beating,
two shining eyes at rest,
God broke our hearts to prove,
He only takes the best.

God knows you had to leave us,
But you did not go alone,
For a part of us went with you,
The day He took you Home.

To some you are forgotten,
To others just a part of the past,
But to those of us who loved and lost you,
The memory will always last.

The above heart touching poem was originally placed on Quan's Tribute Page by Annette, loving mom to Burdett Wappes. God sent His earth angel to me at the right moment in time. Be blessed Annette, I am truly grateful.

I am wearing a pair of shoes.
They are ugly shoes, uncomfortable shoes,
I hate my shoes.
Each day I wear them,
and each day I wish I had another pair.
Some days my shoes hurt so bad that
I do not think I can take another step.
Yet, I continue to wear them.
I get funny looks wearing these shoes.
They are looks of sympathy.
I can tell in others eyes that they are glad
they are my shoes and not theirs.
They never talk about my shoes.
To learn how awful my shoes are
might make them uncomfortable.
To truly understand these shoes you must walk in them.
But once you put them on you can't take them off.
I now realize that I am not the only one
who wears these shoes.
There are many pairs in the world.
Some women are like me and ache daily,
as they try and walk in them.
Some have learned how to walk in them
so they don't hurt quite as much.
Some have worn these shoes so long
that days will go by before they think about
how much they hurt.
No woman deserves to wear these shoes.
Yet, because of these shoes I am a stronger woman.
These shoes have given me the strength to face anything.
They have made me who I am.
I will forever walk in the shoes of a woman who has lost a child.

We're alike, you and I
We've never met
Our face would be those of a stranger,
if we met.
We would barely perceive the other's presence,
If we passed on our walk through the mists.
We're unknown to each other
until the terrible words have been spoken
We're alike you and I
We measure time in seconds and eternities.
We try to go forward to yesterday
Tomorrow's are for the whole people,
And we are incomplete now.
The tears after a time turn inward
To become invisible to all save you and me.
Our souls are rumpled from wrestling with demons.
And doubts and unanswerable prayer
We're alike you and I
The tears that run down your face are my tears
And the wound in your soul is my pain too.
We need time but time is our enemy.
For it carries us farther and farther from our lost child.
And we cry out;
We're alike you and I
And we need each other.
Don't turn away but give me your hand
And for a time we can cease to be strangers.
And become who we truly are,
A family closer than blood.
United by a bond that was forced upon us--
But a bond that can make us stronger,
Still wounded and not sure,
But stronger because our sorrows are shared.

~ Mom ~

God looked down from the Heavens,
and the clouds began to roll.
He said "it's time for Me to call this soul".

And so He sweetly called your loved one's name out loud, and said "Come unto Me", then rolled back the clouds.

Sometimes the voice of God is hard to understand,
when it interrupts our lives and reveals a difficult plan.

Even in the midst of a sudden storm,
the voice of God will comfort and miraculously perform.

It will speak unto your heart, and create a peace within, that will calm and keep you,
and shield you against the wind.

God is speaking from the Heavens;
"Just look unto the hills.I may have called your precious one, but their spirit is with you still".

When I am gone, I would rather have a little rose from the garden of a friend, than have the choicest flowers when my stay on earth shall end.

I would rather have the kindest words and a smile that I can see, than flattery when my heart is still and this life ceased to be.

I would rather have a loving smile from the friends I know are true, than tears shed around my casket when the world I bid adieu.

A child that loses a parent is an orphan,
A man who loses his wife is a widower,
A woman who loses her husband is a widow,
There is no name for a parent that loses a child,
For there is no word to describe the pain.

Our loved ones are together in Heaven warmly embracing each other, as they joyfully look down upon us realizing how much we love and cherish them. They are saying it's alright now, we're happy and at peace... They are all gently whispering to us below... to those I love, and to those who love me, thank you for your eternal love; see you when you get here."

Thank you Heavenly Father!

And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.  (Romans 8:10)

...I am the resurrection, and the life:
he that believeth in me, though he were dead,
yet shall he live:

And whosoever liveth and believeth in me
shall never die. Believest thou this?  (John 11:25-26)

Oh, give thanks to the God of Heaven! For His mercy endures forever.            (Ps 136:26)

People come into your life for a reason,
a season or a lifetime.
When you know which one it is
you will know what to do for that person.

When someone is in your life for a reason,
it is usually to meet a need you have expressed.
They have come to assist you through a difficulty,
to provide you with guidance and support,
to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually.

They may seem like a godsend and they are.
They are there for a reason you need them to be.
Then without any wrong doing on your part
or at an inconvenient time, this person will say
or do something to bring your relationship to an end.
Sometimes they die, sometimes they walk away.
Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand.

What we must realize is that our need has been met,
our desire fulfilled , their work is done.
The prayer you sent up has been answered
and now it is time to move on.

Some people come into your life for a season,
because your turn has come to share, grow or learn.
They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh.
They may teach you something you have never done.
They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy.
Believe it , it is real. But only for a season.

Lifetime relationships teach you lifetime lessons,
things you must build upon  in order to have a solid
emotional foundation.

Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person
and put what you have learned  to use in all other
relationships and areas of your life.

It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.
Thank you for being a part of my life, whether you were a reason, a season, or a lifetime.

~ Iyanla Vanzant ~
